Northern Territory Parliament House |

Parliament House is located in State Square at the end of Mitchell Street, adjacent to the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory and Government House.
It stands on one of the nation's most significant historic sites. Overlooking the striking Darwin Harbour, the building rests on the site of the Darwin Post Office and Telegraph Station, which was bombed during the first bombing raid on the Top End on 19 February 1942.
Parliament House in Darwin was officially opened by the Governor-General, the Honourable Bill Hayden AC on 18 August 1994.
The building was designed to harmonise with the Top End's tropical climate and Australian materials feature throughout. The brown granite flooring was quarried at Mt Bundy, just south of Darwin.
As well as housing the Northern Territory Legislative Chamber, Parliament House is home to the Department of the Legislative Assembly, Ministerial, Opposition and Independent Members offices, Parliamentary Counsel, the Northern Territory Library, Speakers Corner cafe and a local artists craft shop.
