Territory Day is a much-loved event for Territorians, who take the opportunity to celebrate everything they love about this incredible place we call home.
The Territory will come alive with fireworks*, concerts and community events to recognise the day the NT declared independence from the Commonwealth Government in 1978.

The Territory is full of amazing individuals who call this place home.
While some are born and bred, many have come from across the country or overseas to root themselves in the red soil. Others have come on holiday for a visit, left and then found themselves returning months or even years later to make this unique place home.
